WINDOWS Firmware Update Instructions

  • The micro USB port on the RED MOUNTAIN / THE GULF (V2) is located INSIDE the enclosure. You will have to remove the back plate to access it.

  • The micro USB port on the NEXUS_4 (V2) is easily accessed through a hole in the right side of the enclosure.

  • Download the “SWINDLER.zip” file below
  • This file is kept up to date and includes ALL firmware releases for ALL pedals to date.

Download File

  • Extract all the contents from the downloaded zip file (likely in your downloads folder) to the desktop for quick access for now.

  • Open the extracted “SWINDLER” folder and you should see the contents below.

  • If this is your first time trying to update the firmware then you’ll need to double-click the “arduino-1.8.8-windows.exe” first. Just follow the installer. This will install the arduino IDE that contains the background libraries and drivers needed to run the code. This only needs to be done once.

  • Once the above step is done, navigate into the folder corresponding to the pedal you wish to update. Example below is for the RED MOUNTAIN.

  • Then navigate into the folder of the firmware version you wish to upload. Higher “VER_X” numbers are newer. Example below is for the RED MOUNTAIN firmware VER 1.

  • Plug in the pedal with a Micro-USB cable (not included).

  • Once inside the correct folder for your pedal and firmware version, double click on the Windows Batch File (.bat). Should have a filename of “*PEDAL*_VER_*VERSION*” with *PEDAL* and *VERSION* replaced with specific information.

  • A command line window will open up that will run the code and update the firmware. Once you see the pedal restart, the firmware should have been loaded, and you can close the command line window.

  • THAT’S IT! If done correctly your pedal should now be running the firmware you selected.
